Have you considered the alternative to buying a puppy?
How about looking at being a foster parent for a very needy Dalmatian or go down the road of rescuing a Dalmatian in need.
We have 2 Dalmatian welfares. We have The British Dalmatian Club Welfare which is a registered charity .Go to www.britishdalmatianclub.org.uk and then we have the North of England Dalmatian Club rescue service. www.NOEDC.com
We have a continuous flow of Dalmatians needing new homes, due to no fault of their own. Most of the time it is due to family break-ups, moving, or other family circumstances.
On the odd occasion we do get a bitch or a male in with a few behaviour problems, often due to the fact the new owners DID NOT listen to the advice given by the breeder or the breed club: such as take the dog to OBEDIENCE TRAINING, and socialise the dog with other humans and animals.
The other big fault is that people buy the dog through local adverts or perhaps somebody was “foolish” enough to buy the dog as a present. They owners then realise they have a problem, and “surprise-surprise” the breeder isn’t interested in getting the dog back. They are happy they got your money…..so they are laughing all the way to the bank. This is just one of the many reasons why you should please go to a REPUTABLE breeder, who is a member of one of the Dalmatian Clubs, if you want to buy a puppy with minimum risk. The other alternative is to contact the KENNEL CLUB and ask for the contact numbers for the breed club before buying a puppy.
But, please also consider giving a desperately needy Dalmatian a new and perhaps happier home life than where they came from.
Their ages vary, as do their size, their spotting, their markings, and their colours. At the end of the day they are DALMATIANS.
A most loving and caring breed who due to their charm, character and sadly film promotions -- 101 Dalmatians - is a populare breed who people fall for but simply fail to cope with.People forget that the dogs in the movies are OBEDIENCE TRAINED DALMATIANS.
The Dalmatian welfares have “fun days” where we encourage people with their rescue dogs to attend. And also potential new owners .We have Sausage races, obedience, agility and a good social day out with other Dalmatian lovers. It is fantastic to see how the dogs bloom in their new homes. You can become a member of the welfare and receive our newsletter. So why not look into it and visit the web sites and find out more about it..You might find the perfect partner...in crime??
And what is the crime you wonder ... un conditional LOVE is my answer..
