HK CHAMPION DALREGIS CELESTE AIDA to CHANDHALLY (IDA)
IDA as a puppy with her mum BECKY
Ida was born on 26th April 1991 in Newton Regis near Tamworth. Her mother was the very loving and affectionate Ch. Dalregis Cressida (Becky) who had been Crowned a Champion with her BCC and BOB at Crufts 1990. Becky was bred and owned by Mrs. Pat Wilson (email Dalregis@dial.pipex.com) of the Dalregis Affix. Becky had 4 Champions in her 2 litters. Sire was Ch. Konavlje The Wayfarer at Miragua

Ida was one of 9 puppies. She was irresistible from the first time we saw her. I had a good look at all the bitches. Picked them up one at the time and thought yes, I like that black spotted one and oh yes, I really like that one!! . This continued for some time until Mrs Pat Wilson obviously couldn’t take it any more and asked - Why are you always picking up the same bitch!! I thought I had picked up different ones !! Well needless to say we asked if it was possible to have that black bitch !!Well we shall see.. was the reply..as the breeder had a tough choice to make herself as she wanted a bitch to show..What a day it was when the call came and Pat agreed that we could have Ida. We have remained close friends ever since.

So Ida finally arrived into the Flemings Household. What a nightmare she turned out to be. AS a PUPPY !!!
Solo wasn’t too sure about this pestering little girl, but soon gave in and took the blame for many of her mischievous adventures.
Solo and Ida
Ida was a destructive little puppy. She managed to get on the kitchen work benches, have the kitchen curtains down, pushed over the TV so that it was just hanging there by the cable. Shoes, brushes, anything she could get her teeth into, was fair game. Stealing FOOD, now that was an art. But she was just so wonderful. She was so friendly and she just gave you that reproachful look - I’m sorry (until the next time!). Well it worked. She got away with almost everything.
We decided to show Ida as well and entered her at Melton Mowbray & District Canine Society’s Open show on 27th October 1991.
Our judge was Mrs O.Lyons (Frohocks). Ida was 6 months and 1 day old. She won the puppy class, got BPIB and ended up with Reserve Best Puppy in Show.(RBPIS) at her very first outing.Ida was a natural show dog. She loved the attention in the ring and never put a paw wrong.
She took a few more BP some with BOB and more RBPIS at Open shows. She kept on winning BP in breed at a number of Championship shows too. Then as she grew up many BOB and groups at Open shows. She was always amongst the top 3 at every show be it Championship Shows or Open Shows.
We moved to Hong Kong in 1992 and the dog shows continued. Ida was made up to a Champion while over there. Please read about that in the page Showing in Hong Kong

Ida was also shown in Ireland and again did her very best though she was fast approaching Veteran.
Ida gained her studbook number shortly after we came back from Hong Kong in May 1996. Ida was always placed up near the top at Championship Shows and in her later years she had some wins in the Veteran classesClasses.
Moss and Ida
Ida developed a spinal tumour when she was 9 years old and was given a few months to live, but the arrival of SKY from Moss’s mating to Ch/Irish /Int ch Truthful Tango at Kilndandy- turned her life around and she had a renewed surge of energy. Then she had a few strokes and her life slowed down drastically. We ended her show career after that but not until we had a final show. The British Dalmatian Clubs Championship Show in August 2001.She won a very respectable 4th place and it was heart warming that so many people wished her happy retirement.
Ida never had puppies but she was still a wonderful “mother” to Duke, Moss and especially to Sky and she showed them what life is as a Dalmatian . Stealing food from the work bench, raiding the bins, digging up the flower beds, eating shoes and brushes and basically have fun at the cost of the humans.
Ida finally found piece at the end of October 2002 and it’s a tremendous loss to us all.
