Litter Sky-B

Sky had a litter of 13 puppies,22/ 12 -2004 to Ch Washakie Chief As Great As.JW. of which 9 survived, 4 dogs and 5 bitches. We selected Dudley as his pedigree and Sky’s pedigree is compatable- Line Breeding. And we had an absolute excellent result. I think the show reults and also the photo’s speak for themselves.Sky is very happy and relaxed and has settled very well into motherhood. As usual she is delighted to meet and greet visitors, and to show off her puppies.

The puppies are just a few hours old in these top photos,

The puppies are now about 12 days old, spots have started to appear and the puppies are growing really fast. They are being slowly introduced to solids,A bit too early but sometimes we have to give the puppies a helping hand.Especially in large litters or where the competition for the milky bar is very strong., in this caseraw minced beef was offered.

A few careful steps just 14 days old         Off  to the bar      Though young, they still need to play

First pedicure and manicure at one week old ,Nail clipping is extremely important for both puppies and the bitch. They can easily scratch her so badly she will bleed and infections will set in, putting Bitch and puppies lives at risk

And then there were some more

Too much reading makes you tired!

The puppies first outing, playing with Mum on the patio on a cold but sunny January morning. The news paper is put out to encourage them to go to the toilet.

Rags” on the trolley.

The Three Stooges” sunning themselves

Where’s the BEEF !!

There’s got to be something tasty in here... I am a Dalmatian after all!

Aha its in HERE!

No, I am sure it was here !

Puppies meeting Grannie Moss for the first time - “Respect, Man”    Did you see our BEEF ??

I’m bord.I have had enought of snoozing.I’m off.

What has been amazing with this litter is that they are litterally identical to Sky’s A litter. They all have the same ear markings, Sky’s “trademark”  Looks like somebody has pinched each ear, with black colouring ,where the ear folds over, close to the head. The markings are again extremely evenly spread on the body.We had no patches. This lot has been extremely healthy, very strong and solid in build and has plenty of bones. They are growing up very fast and are now more or less house trained.Yes,correct.Because they live in the house and have the facility to go outside, they try to hold on as long as they can before they do their stuff.Puppies DO NOT want to dirty their sleeping and play area.

At 7.30 am the morning chorus starts, so you better be ready with the front door out to the fenced in patio and let them out fast, while balancing the food in the other hand. Problem is..  trying not to stand on them or trip over them as all you see is a moving mass of white fat blobbs with black spots.

Talking about being regulare. They want their food every 4 hours and a minute late and they start howling. They eat anything and everything. From raw minced beef in the morning to warm oat porridge before they go to bed at night. We don’t see them or hear them during the night. When we tell them good night at 11pm  they all go to bed, snuggle up and that’s it.This is truly an amazing litter.Very happy and content.

The puppies are now 6 weeks old and really enjoying being outside. They have managed to ruin the hostess trolly by pure weight !!This lot are rather well fed and seriously rounded.Do you see the likeness in them all ?Can you tell them apart?

Micro chipping has been done and following that was the BAER testing. They can all hear so any “deafness “ as they grow up is selective.I always Micro chip before the hearing test. This way their is NO mix up with the dogs Kennel Club Registrations and puppy names. Finally they are all given their 1st vaccination and a very thorough health check before they go to their new homes at 8 weeks old..

A tired youngster 10 days old

Alfie  getting chipped prior to his BAER test

BAER testing done with the specialist J.Skerritt.This is a painless prosess and the puppies are very relaxed the whole time.

Health check at the Vet. Every CHANDHALLY puppy goes through this before they leave for their new home.A small price for me to pay knowing that my puppies have passed these very vigorous tests and been vaccinated by my Vet .I can not give them a better start in life.It is now up to the new owners to continue what I have started

Heart listened to to make sure it is working well and no heart murmur and lungs doing their work.(Pia)

Ears, nose and throat studdied in great detail. All must be clear. (Maya)

Hips wriggled about to ensure they are in good working order (Pia)

Put on the scales to make sure they are the right weight. Not too thin or obese

This lot is waiting their turn to be seen by my Vet- though some of them have already been done and just wants to rest.

Finally the puppies have totally crashed out after a long day at the Vet .My excellent Veterinarian and his assistants were equally tired out.A few hours work, not surprising 2 veterinary nurses had to help out.YouI couldn’t wish for better service.
