Oil Painting 2004
Our first Dalmatian, Country Point to Chandhally (Solo) a liver boy came into our household in 1989. Another handsome male from Northern Ireland. We decided to take him to a few shows and that was it. At our very first open show, which was North of England Dalmatian Club, we won in the classes he had entered and we won the big raffle prize. Needless to say we haven’t looked back. The family was now seriously hooked. Sadly Solo died at a young age, just 2 years of old from Crohn’s disease. Victoria and Solo
Well like any good Dalmatian Person you just can’t stop at one Dalmatian. In 1991 we got Ida, HK Ch. Dalregis Celeste Aida to Chandhally, from Pat Wilson and the Dalregis Dalmatians. We had great fun in the show ring in the UK, and we had a tremendous time with her in Hong Kong as well.
Ida at 8 weeks old
We moved to Hong Kong in 1992 and Ida came with us, in her sky kennel on the same plane as us. We then thought she better have a companion and contacted the Australian Dalmatian Club.We were put in contact with John Gatfield and we were very lucky in finding Duke. HK Ch. Dalrannoch Citizen Kane to Chandhally (imp. Australia). He was shown in Australia before he came to us in Hong Kong and he was a consistent winner. He kept on winning in Hong Kong as well. I had the great pleasure of showing his mother Australian Champion Dalrannoch Manon Lescaut at the last Championship show held at Sydney Royal Show ground in Sydney, Australia. We won the Veteran class.

Sadly Duke and Ida never mated but you couldn’t get closer companions. In their 10 years together they were never apart. They were fantastic ambassadors for the breed. I kept our Dalmatian friends in UK up to date with life in Hong Kong and the show scene. My articles were published in Spots of News, which is The British Dalmatian Clubs Newsletter.
Duke was used only a few times at stud and he was duly mated to Dalregis La Serenata (Carrie), litter sister of Ida and we got our super liver bitch Moss (Irish Champion Dalregis Shooting Star of Chandhally). BAER tested normal. We have had a brilliant time with her at open shows and especially championship shows both here in UK and in Ireland.
We decided some 9/10 years ago to have a go at showing in Ireland as well. So the caravan was duly packed and the 3 Dallies put in the back of the car.We have had tremendous success with Duke and Moss. Duke collected a lot of Green Stars (the Irish equivalent of CC’s) and a number of CACIB’s (international CC). He won a number of groups and BIS at Championship Shows. Moss has followed in her father’s paw prints and done the same, but with the added successes in UK. She gained her studbook number at an early age which means she is qualified to enter Crufts for life.
Moss Irish Champion Dalregis Shooting Star of Chandhally the wonder dog. What a bundle of laughs she is. From day one she has been determined that hanging baskets are for her. Moss will trash anything up on the walls of the house. Moss lived very much in the shadow of her father and Ida and had great respect for them both.

Moss at around 3 months Moss - now in her 10th year.
In year 2000 we mated Moss to UK Champion, Irish Champion, International Champion Truthful Tango at Kilndandy (Toby) BAER tested normal. Moss had a litter of 11 puppies born after a caesarean but 1 sadly died after just a few days only. All puppies were BAER tested, with testing 9 normal and 1 puppy was unilateral deaf
Moss was a super mum and we finally decided to keep a smashing black bitch, SKY. Oh how that changed our lives.
Duke, Moss and Sky - three generations in the forest at night
Moss was later on in life mated to Konavlje Spot Boris and had 6 puppies again with a caesarean and again we lost 1 puppy. This was to be her last litter. All puppies in the litter were BAER tested normal.
SKY , is a true character. Never a dull moment in this house. Sky, or as her kennel name says, Chandhally Chantilly Lace. BAER tested normal , has had a super show career going RBPIS at the British Dalmatian Club’s Championship show in 2001. She has also won numerouse firsts at Championship Shows and the best result so far is the BCC with BOB at Border Union Championship show in June 2004. She also holds a RBCC which was given to her at The Northern Ireland Dalmatian Clubs Championship Show in 2003. Sky has a number of Green Stars (Irish CC’S)

Sky at 6 weeks old Sky at 5 years old
Sky was mated to Deovolante Don Alfonzo J.W (BAER tested normal) in 2002 and had a cracking litter of 12 puppies. Sadly we lost a little girl after 1 week. Sky was a wonderful mother. She gave them everything- her temperament, her good looks and charm and has passed on a very strong likeness to all the puppies with her ear and body markings. Strong in body and mind. They are all a joy to watch growing up. It is wonderful to see 3 of her puppies doing so extremely well in the Show ring at all levels. One male, Harvey, Chandhally Bucks Fizz received RDCC at WELKS 2004, judged by Mrs Sharon Ridgeway and he has also qualified to attend Crufts for life.
2 years later Sky was mated to Ch Washakie Chief As Great As (JW) and had 13 puppies. Sadly 4 were lost but we have been left with 9 incredible puppies. Again she has passed on her ear markings ,the blackest of black spotting , the purest of white coat , outstanding temperament and hopefully keeping their new owners extremely happy. I am sure that if you look on the photographs of Sky’s litters A and B you will see how incredibly alike they all are. No wonder they are difficult to tell apart. In this litter 3 bitches and 2 dogs are in the show ring and doing really well.
We kept a beautiful girl from this mating. Pia. Chandhally Snow Queen She is a real character and we see a lot of Duke and especially Ida in her behavior an attitude but she looks very much like her mum.Chandhally Chantilly Lace Pia has grown up to a really great companion She is always trying to please you and when slightly told off - she smiles and makes funny sounds as if to say “ I love you “ ! she is so happy to be around humans and dogs.Never a cross word. She is also enjoying life in the limelight. she is doing really well in the show ring. Pia is a typical Chandhally .Outstanding temperament ,Bold black spotting ( she has even got spots on the tail !) Super dark eyes and has tremendous power when she moves. She can and does run all day. Favorite game? Bit her mums tail and try to get mum in a chaise. She is very vocal even there. She really makes us laugh. She has a lot of respect for her granny- Irish Ch Dalregis Shooting Star of Chandhally She loves to snuggle up granny and seeks comfort there.

PIA at 7 weeks PIA at 6 weeks

Pia free standing at 13 week. Pia 14 months

Hahaha This is funny. One is not amused. Walking through the jungle what do we see !
Well. Pia CHANDHALLY SNOW QUEEN had her first litter on 2nd November 2007 to French Champion Troilus Du Puech Barrayre. This male is noted for his excellent temperament and again super pigment, conformation and movement. He is also related to our girls back in the pedigree. We had 7 wonderful puppies. Pia was a super mum.Loved every moment of her pups.S adly the pups have to go to their new homes and we had to make our decision to what stayed here at home with us..Well no surprise there as he selected to stay put..Yes we ended up with a Male..Hall CHANDHALLY CUVEE DU PRESIDENT.Super boy -pitch black spotting. Gorgeous eyes and such a gentle character. The girls loves him to bits but they do not allow him to get away with much. He has great respect for Granny Sky and Great Granny Moss..Pia ..mum..well that’s another story..
